Our volunteers are our heart and soul of the Center.

We’ve been doing important things from day one.

It may have taken quite a few moving boxes, but we’ve finally landed in a permanent home.

We started as an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) clubhouse. Between 2003 – 2005, the Center was known as the Alano Club and was located at Fort Ethan Allen in Colchester, VT.

In 2005 the Alano Club reopened at 149 South Champlain Street in Burlington, VT under a name you may recognize: The Turning Point Center of Chittenden County.

The Center’s focus shifted from AA clubhouse to a recovery center for anyone seeking support for drug and/or alcohol addiction. This meant the depth and scope of what we do expanded drastically.

We stayed on South Champlain Street for five years, then hopped to 191 Bank Street, Burlington, VT in 2010. In November 2018 we were able to move to our awesome current home at 179 South Winooski Ave, Burlington, VT. That move was made possible by funds raised through a capital campaign – it allowed us to buy the building.

Now that we have our own permanent home, we can focus even more on our main mission:

The Turning Point Center of Chittenden County is a dedicated, compassionate community that provides recovery support services in a safe, substance-free environment for individuals and families on multiple paths to self-discovery and sustained recovery.
