Mars started their journey with the Turning Point Center of Chittenden County as a guest at the Center. It was the connections made at TPCCC and in the Burlington Recovery Community that inspired and supported Mars to sustain their recovery.  Mars joined the TPCCC team as a Corrections Recovery Coach in spring of 2024. Mars has worked to grow and expand the Corrections Recovery Coaching Program so that more recovery services are available to those who are incarcerated. Mars brings compassion, kinship, and mutual respect to their work as Corrections Recovery Coaching Coordinator. Mars is an advocate for self-determination, the destigmatization of incarceration, accessible recovery support, and building relationship with community members who are navigating DOC supervision. Mars loves to make art, build campfires, and roast hot dogs. Mars has two cats and will not stop talking about it.
