Experience a new level of support during a crisis at the University of Vermont Medical Center’s Emergency Department with Peer Recovery Coaches from Turning Point Center of Chittenden County.
The Peer Recovery Coaches’ focus is diverse and helps you focus on wraparound services on your journey toward wellness. From facilitating connections with local treatment centers to providing emotional support after crises, explaining treatment options, advocating on your behalf, or assisting in challenging conversations with community agencies—they are steadfast allies in every step of your recovery.
Since 2018, Turning Point Center’s Peer Coaches connect with patients struggling with use and addiction in UVMMC’s Emergency Department, and 83% of these patients seek continued services with TPCCC after their ED visit. This peer connection is making a tremendous difference during a critical time. These numbers underscore the profound impact of our approach. The personal insight of our coaches proves instrumental in achieving and maintaining sobriety.
