Recovery Peer Support Specialist Team Lead
The Turning Point Center of Chittenden County’s Recovery Peer Support Specialist Team Lead performs peer recovery support and assists managing the peer support team with their colleagues and their supervisor, the Administrative Manager. The work of the team lead is to complete all daily responsibilities of the Recovery Center’s operations, assist with training and developing operating procedures for effective support services, and assist the Administrative Manager in scheduling and supervising the team. The position is in-person, scheduled for 24-28 hours per week, and pays hourly $20-$22. Eligible for the center’s part-time benefits package. The Center is an EOE and encourages individuals in recovery from substance use disorder to apply.
Responsibilities for Recovery Peer Support Specialist Team Lead include but are not
limited to:
- Manage the Recovery Peer Support Specialists’ data collection, management of data systems, and telephone support system.
- Assist Administrative Manager in supervising objectives of entire team.
- Assist with training, shadowing, and orientation to all new peer support specialists.
- Facilitate a bi-weekly team meeting to cover guests, procedures, data collection and ongoing resource provision training.
- Assist Administrative Manager with managing and updating the RPSS schedule.
- Work at least 1 day per week in a specialist capacity and complete all necessary specialist objectives.
- Assist Administrative Manager in structuring and developing training curriculum for department.
- Enforce center policies and assist Administrative Manager and operations team with ensuring the safety of our community and monitoring of center space.
- Help volunteers; fill in where needed – maintain cleanliness of center space, screening at the door, answering the phone.
- Maintain education pertaining to best practices as well as local resources.
- Provide timely and accurate reports to supervisors when requested and scheduled.
- Fill in for unexpected absences and holidays.
Qualifications:
- Identifies an individual actively in long-term recovery from substance use disorder.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and experience with staff supervision.
- Certified Recovery Coach, IC&RC Certificate.
- Leadership skills and team building experience are preferred.
