This meeting is an open meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. All are welcome. The format includes reading from the Big Book (the blue book "Alcoholics Anonymous"), followed by a discussion on the reading and issues of recovery. The facility is Wheelchair Accessible.
This in-person recovery yoga class offers a unique blend of mindfulness, movement, and community support. All students and teachers are in recovery, all forms of recovery, and at all stages of their journey. An open AA meeting that meets from 12:00 - 1:00 pm, seven days a week, in person at the Center. This group welcomes all newcomers with open arms, and the format is usually “LD” ie, literature/discussion. This means that the meeting begins with a reading from a book that is part of the Alcoholics Anonymous library, followed by an open discussion of the reading and anything else related to the topic of recovery.
A support group for family and friends whose lives have been affected by the disease of addiction with a loved one. This is a hybrid meeting held by the Families Coping with Addiction group every Wednesday at 5:30 pm, with an in-person session at the Turning Point Center of Chittenden County together. Yoga of 12-Step Recovery (Y12) is a holistic practice designed to address the physical, mental, and spiritual disease of addiction. Recovery Dharma is a peer-led movement and community unified by our trust in each person’s potential to recover and find freedom from the suffering of addiction. We believe that the traditional Buddhist teachings—often referred to as the Dharma—offer a powerful approach to healing from addiction and living a life of true freedom. SMART Recovery’s 4-Point Program is the organization’s flagship secular program serving those with an addictive behavior, including both substance and activity/process addictions. Trained volunteer facilitators lead effective mutual support group discussions on these topics: Building and maintaining motivation Coping with urges and cravings Managing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors Living a balanced life Related tools consistent with evidence-based motivational and cognitive behavioral theories are also offered and discussed. Specific audiences: Adults Welcome Anyone 18 and over fitting the purpose of the above program is welcome to join the meeting. Join the Parents All in Recovery Group every Friday from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Turning Point Center of Chittenden County, 179 S. Winooski Ave., Suite 301, Burlington, Vermont, where parents in recovery can connect, share their experiences, and support one another in a welcoming and understanding space. Children are welcome in the Maddie Linsenmeir Room, a safe, child-friendly space for ages 0–8. On the last Friday of each month, Steph from Steps to End Domestic Violence will join the group for learning, discussion, and breakfast pastries for all participants.
