Food, Basic Needs, and Cash Benefits

Chittenden Community Action – CVOEO

Help w/ applying for benefits (e.g. public housing, utility & fuel aid); tax prep; vouchers for bus passes, appliances & furniture; gardening supplies; art & culture event tickets. Low income residents of Chittenden County only. (Have other local offices that serve residents of Addison, Franklin & Grand Isle counties.) Must be low-income & meet program criteria.

Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf

Anyone who’s hungry & needs food. Monthly income must be less than $1,700 per person.
Breakfast Sun.-Fri. 7-10:30 am;
Sunday dinner 5:30-6:30 pm;
Groceries avail. M-F 9am-4pm.

File new or weekly claim for unemployment benefits. Must be unemployed and have worked in VT. Must have worked in 6 of past 18 mos.

VT Dept. of Health Women, Infants & Children program (WIC)

Providing nutritious foods to eligible Vermonters. ncome-eligible pregnant women, women who are breastfeeding or who have a new baby, infants and children up to age 5. Must be low income & meet program guidelines.
